We’ll we’ve made some final decisions for interior lighting of our remodel and a couple of decisions for the exterior.
Above are the two fixtures that will be placed in the dining area, the larger fixture will go above our dining room table and two of the pendants will be placed over the island.
The remainder of the light in the kitchen and dining areas will come from recessed cans. We’ve also decided to keep a recessed can above the kitchen sink. I would normally suggest a pendant for this area but the view out of this window is beautiful and I don’t want to do anything to cover it.
For the master bedroom bathroom we will will have a small lighting fixture above the tilting vertical mirror along with two sconces on either side of the mirror.
Both bathroom showers will also have recessed lighting. I can’t wait for this feature!
I was not able to come up with a picture of the fixture for the guest bath. Once it is actually installed I’ll make sure to post a photo.
The exterior lighting has brought a challenge as the house is in a very traditional track home which was built in the early 1960’s. As for the interior of the home, we’ve gutted every room to reflect a very transitional feel and brought it into the feeling of 2014. With the exterior we need to honor the building period as we will not be making any major changes until we re-coop from the building of the interior . . . so we are still in the middle of making those lighting decisions. We have decided on one fixture (below) which will be placed on several areas on the front of the house.
