Today I’m in Los Angeles picking up and delivering items for clients, but part of my really wants to be back in San Diego because a client of mine is receiving some new items today.  For a designer this is like Christmas to be there to watch their clients light up when their new products arrive.  Darn, I’m missing Christmas morning 🙂

Below is a picture of something like their dining room table, but next to it is a snip-it of the fabric we are putting on the chairs.  This picture does not do it justice, this fabric is stunning!  I’ve been wanting to use this fabric for months and this just happened to be the perfect project.  It’s a woven fabric from Europe that has a thread through it which glistens when caught in the light.  Can you imagine a candle lit dinner.

DT and FabThis floor mirror (below) is huge!  It’s about six feet wide and 8 feet tall.  Again, this picture does not do it justice. I’ll be meeting up with this client on Saturday to see these new treasures in person, I’ll shoot some shots to share with all of you. Next we are adding a wallpaper feature wall in the dining room.   This will be the centerpiece to the room.  Again, I’ll share as we get this up on the wall. Mirror_1

Well . . . although I would love to talk to all  of you, I’m out of the studio today and a little (OK a lot) under the weather.   I am trying to stay on top of phone calls and emails, but everything else will have to wait a day or two until I’m back . . . and have a voice. Below, you will see a few of the work orders I was able to create and get into the work room.   If you need to chat with me it’s best to drop me an email or text over the next couple of days.  Thanks for your patience.

Cathy

I’m always excited when we find just the right match for an addition to our team.  Recently we found just that in Cathy.  Please join me in welcoming this great lady (leave a comment below).

Cathy is a true master in drapery construction and all things having to do fabric used in home and commercial design, even when I bring her the craziest ideas, and goodness knows I have those.   Her patience goes above and beyond, and her attention to detail are incredible.

Above you will see some very special drapery . . . because they are for our new house 🙂   They’ve since been hung, I’ll have to get some pictures posted soon.  I love the colors, a peacock blue and gold . . .they are hanging in our great room, now I just have to get furniture ordered.

In the work room there are always samples to look at so as to avoid any confusion.  Here on the wall you will see the most popular pleat styles.  I must admit, my favorite thing about this picture is the American flag to the far left.

Here Cathy is showing me the beginning of the pleats.  We went with a traditional three finger pleat for this particular window treatment.

Maybe we will feature your window treatment next.  Together maybe you and I can give Cathy her next challenge . . . just kidding Cathy 🙂
