Ketchikan Lumberjack Show

The Ketchikan Lumberjack Show was fun for everyone, and affordable for a family.  This small town was so fun on so many levels.

When you walk through this small but thriving small town, you could tell these folks know how to have fun. Of all of the towns we visited this seemed to be the largest, and in my opinion the best for being in touch with what was happening out there in the ‘real’ world.

Above are just a few shots we caught around town before we went to the Ketchikan Lumberjack Show.  This show was very professionally performed and narrated, it was a great experience and enjoyed by all ages.   The viewing areas of this arena where all covered from the elements, and there was even a special viewing area for wheelchairs where the viewer could be completely closed in a plastic type tent.

Above – This Lumberjack found a special place in our hearts as he lost his hearing at a very young age and was wearing a Cochlear Implant.  A very dear friend of ours was one of the first recipients to have this implant and has gone on to do great things.  So proud of you Matt!  If you would like to know what a Cochlear Implant is click here.

Here is a link (click here) for the Lumberjack show if you wish to purchase a ticket without going through Princess.  The facility for the show is just a short five minute taxi ride from the dock, or if booked through Princess there is a bus that takes you to the show.

Goodbye Ketchikan

After we did some walking through the town, and then some shopping on the dock, it was time to get back on board and enjoy some lunch and afternoon drink.

Join us tomorrow as I share some photos with you of the Glacier Bay National Park, and our High Tea in Victoria, Canada.
