What does a 12 million dollar home in Rancho Santa Fe look like?  Let me share with you what I found on my treasure hunt.

Do you ever drive through a high end neighborhood and wonder what is behind those big gigantor (that is a word right) iron gates that seem to have a huge imaginary “Privacy Please” sign hanging from their gates? Me too!  Recently while in the neighborhood of Rancho Santa Fe, which seems to be my home away from home these day, I passed one of THOSE gates.  Curiosity was driving me crazy when I saw the For Sale sign that was begging for my attention.

When I got back to the studio I had to fire up the internet to find that listing.  That ‘little’ jewel of a country home is listed for . . . wait for it . . . . it’s a 12 million dollar home!

This home is so stunning, I thought I would share a few pictures with you of the beautiful interior.  Hats off to the interior designer and architect who both did an outstanding job!

Rancho Santa Fe Yard

In looking through the photos of this beautiful home I believe I viewed at least five patios throughout the beautiful grounds of this home.  Wouldn’t this be a great place to have a party with everyone you’ve ever met, or I can just imagine a large garden wedding.

For those of you who are not from California, to see this much property within a major city is very rare, and then with our drought it’s even more rare to see green grass. I guess that’s what a 12 million dollar home affords you in this San Diego County home.

Rancho Santa Fe StaircaseLoving this front door, staircase and that stunning grand piano tucked away in the corner.  The iron work on the staircase is a beautifully crafted piece of art.

Rancho Santa Fe - Family Room Such a cozy room, everything you would expect in Rancho Santa Fe.

12 Million Dollar Home - Rancho Santa Fe Rancho Santa Fe - Kitchen Holly molly that island is HUGE!  Did you see that built inn pizza oven in the first photo?  Now look at those incredible doors leading into the kitchen, and I can’t stop drooling over that ceiling treatment over the island.  It looks like brick, but I can’t tell for sure, what do you think?

Rancho Santa Fe - Master Bathroom A nice freestanding tub with a big fire in the fireplace . . . yes please.  Then there is that beautiful antique piece which has been re-purposed as a vanity. I’ve always enjoyed the contrast of bisque walls with dark toned wood pieces, or what we call in my business, Case Goods.

If you would like to take a look at all of the photos from this listing just click here and it will take you on a complete view of this stunningly beautiful 12 million dollar home.

Until I have another one of my drive by curiosity impulses, enjoy this tour.

Many of you have heard me discuss the two life sized playhouses that we’ve been designing out in Rancho Santa Fe.  Well, this week we finished the exteriors and are moving onto completing the interiors.  A playhouse . . . for an Adult, who wouldn’t want this type of escape in their own back yard?

The interior of one of these playhouses will have a cabin theme.  I’m not normally one for themed interiors but it just makes sense in this particular case.

Both of these places now have full insulation, electricity, drywall, interior and exterior lighting fixtures, faux wood floors, baseboards and window and door trim.  The larger of the two playhouses, which is two story, has 18 windows.  Yep, 18!

Below is a picture of a few of the items we have ordered for the interior.  Would love to know your thoughts.  What would you add to this playhouse . . . for an adult.   Leave me a comment, what would you bring into this cabin themed playhouse.

Semi-Custom Bedding

Did you know you have bedding options?  Semi-Custom bedding is the answer for so many of my clients as custom bedding has become financially unreachable for the middle to upper class.  A complete custom bedding set can exceed $5,000, but with semi-custom your looking at about half that cost.  It’s a good middle ground when you are wanting a quality product that fits your bed specifications.

Sophisticated Bedding

All of the pictures shared on this post are from my work room and are semi-custom meaning you dictate the exact size of the duvet or comforter (which is perfect for large beds), you can make the bed skirt the exact length needed, and you can even change up items which means you can have two pillows (which will make your husband happy), or you can have eight (which will make the wife happy).  You can even have items from one set, and then combine those with another set.

Navy blue Bedding  This is one of my favorite looks this season, navy blue!  These colors always look so fresh and clean.  Can you imagine this look in a beautiful beach front cottage?

Spa Like Bedding

Have you noticed that there is a new term in bedding . . . “Bed Scarf”.  It’s that patterned item at the base of the bed.  This adds that needed touch of color and pattern without being overwhelming, but saves you the cost of having to have a complete folded duvet.  It’s a good thing.

Rustic Loft Like Bedding

Am I the only one who thinks of Chip and Joanna from HGTV’s ‘Fixer-Upper’ when referring to anything in the design world as, “Sophisticated Rustic”.  I can’t help it, but I think of that awesome couple when I look at this bedding set, it would be perfect in one of their interiors.  One thing is wrong though . . . there is no Shiplap.  🙂 Sorry Joanna.   Here is San Diego I would love to add this look to one of the downtown lofts.  Any takers?

Florida Bedding

Florida anyone?  You can have it all, including Flamingos.  A beach cottage or a Florida home would be a perfect home for this new spring line.  It’s just happy, I dare you to wake up in a bad mood with this bedding.

Now that the High Point Spring Market has ended, as of last week, all of these semi-custom spring releases are now available.  I’m thinking about changing my own bedding, how about you?
