I can help! Here is a quick nine step plan for putting together a romantic Valentine atmosphere for that special person in your life.
With just a few small tweaks you can make your bedroom (and home ) ready for that special Valentine night.
First start with some neutral basics. Here I’ve used a rustic feeling keeping the major pieces tone-on-tone and then I’ve thrown in the spots of rustic red.
9 Simple Steps for a Romantic Valentine Night
- Find some red pillows. The trick with using seasonal pillows is to make sure that they have zippers in the covers then the covers can easily be stored away and the inserts can be used throughout each season.
- Since Valentines and Christmas are so close, why not have some sham (sleeping sized pillows on your bed) covers made are in a red pattern but not specific to either holiday . . . just a red pattern.
- Choose an area in your bedroom/home which can be a wall where you have interchangeable art, keeping each piece the same size. Again this will save on storage for your seasonal decor.
- Slipcovers can be your best friend for seasonal decor. This bench could be placed at the end of the bed and again you could use a simple red slipcover for both Christmas and Valentines. It’s a two-fur.
- Put a simple Valentine frame on your nightstand with a picture of you and your loved one. I have a frame that has picture of me and my special man on one of our first dates. That picture always makes us smile.
- Candles, more candles, and then even more candles! So romantic. Have you tried the new battery operated candles, they really are a gift for us designers. There are different qualities so pay attention to the details. My favorites close off automatically after several hours and have a flickering aspect that makes them so realistic.
- Purchase a whimsical red throw that you can throw over the end of the bed, ottoman or chair.
- Go onto Etsy or your local party store and purchase some luminaries and have them line the front door when your special person comes home for the night.
- Fresh flowers should always be in your home, but on this special occasion add an arrangement to the bedroom that you’ve put together yourself.
Enjoy your special night with your loved one. Everyday I count my blessings that I met the man of my dream, my Mr. Wonderful.
